Niiza is located at the southernmost part of Saitama.The city was founded on November 1, 1970.〔(Niiza City Living Guide )〕 As of 2010, the city has an estimated population of 159,741 and a population density of 7,010 persons per km². The total area is 22.80 km². ==Geography== Niiza is home to Heirin-ji, a large Rinzai Zen Buddhist temple. The temple is located in Nobidome, close to Niiza City Hall. There is a very large stone gate (野火止大門 "Nobidome Daimon") along National Road 254, which runs through the middle of the city.
